Prior to becoming a licensed attorney, Dean worked in the entertainment industry for over 20 years. Starting off in the event industry, Dean produced large scale music events. As a music producer, Dean released a catalog of music on the Junglist Manifesto record label. His prominence in the music industry led to his hosting a radio show on Global Groove 100.7FM and 89.5FM in Toronto, broadcast nationwide on Bell ExpressVu Satellite. At the same time, Dean was working on short films and documentaries, leading him to produce the 26-episode dual language television show, “Canadian Desi” on Rogers OMNI 2, aired nationally.
Soon after, Dean attended Michigan State University College of Law with a special concentration in Intellectual Property. After taking all available intellectual property courses at MSU College of Law, he attended Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles for a visiting semester, a law school that focuses on Entertainment and Media Law. While in LA, he interned with the Business and Legal Affairs departments of Nickelodeon Animation Studios and Bug/Windswept Music Publishing.
After graduating, Dean volunteered with the Prisoner Creative Arts Project at the University of Michigan. Through the arts, PCAP focuses on criminal justice reform and addresses the injustice of the justice system. Dean worked with and advocated for incarcerated individuals, assisting in their appeals and reviewing their convictions.
While completing the licensing application process for the Law Society of Ontario, Dean managed the “VETRN CREW” clothing label, focusing on active street-wear. Furthermore, he was brought on as producer for “Let The Quran Speak” weekly television show, aired nationally on Vision TV, ultimately boosting YouTube subscriptions by over over 100K. Immediately prior to being licensed by the Law Society of Ontario, Dean articled at a busy criminal defence law firm in Windsor, ON and became a member of the Criminal Lawyers’ Association.
Dean brings a wealth of experience in all the industries and practice areas of the firm.
